From the Thursday, May 27th, Meeting:

The trip is on!

We were approved by STAC to host a trip to the Maryhill Museum on Saturday, June 12th! This is exciting news because the trip will won't just be available to the Apparel majors, but all majors at AIPD are welcome to come.

Not only will the entire museum be open to us for only $6 per person, but we will have the opportunity for a personal tour of all the Theatre de la Mode dolls, and be there for a one-day glass blowing event. We need to have 30 people sign up and pay their money by June 10 at 5pm. You can reserve your space by signing a waver, and paying your $6.00 at the Student Accounting Window on the 2nd floor. Tell them you want to sign up for the Maryhill Museum tour.

Please mention this opportunity to all of your Ai Friends. We will be leaving the school at 8:00am and return by 5:00pm.

During week 11 (finals), we will also be hosting a bake sale on the 3rd floor next to the elevators. That's Monday thru Wednesday, June 14th - 16th, at 11:45am until 12:45pm. If you would like to bake food for this event, please contact our Savannah, club President at srh383@stu.aii.edu!

Department Director for Apparel, Sue Bonde, spoke with our Staff Advisor, Patricia Crockett, about the Entwine Club possibly selling vinyl tablecloths at the Feast for the Eyes fashion show on June 5th. Half of the proceeds will go to our club, assuming we do the deed.

If you would like to volunteer to sit at a table and help us sell them, please let us know!

That is quite a few opportunities for our little club! With this money we can do things like silk scarf painting, and it was also discussed that we might host a design event that would involve prizes. More on that to come as we continue to discuss it!

One free thing that we would like to do is take the opportunity to visit a designer's workspace, a similar trip to what we did at the Gerding Theater. There is talk that we may have the opportunity to visit Jeanette Marie's, from Project Runway, workspace! Nothing is yet confirmed about that, though.

NEW MEETING STUFF FOR SUMMER TERM. Starting next term, we will be having the meetings every other Wednesday, instead of alternating Wednesday and Thursday every two weeks. Meetings will still be from 4:45pm to 5:45pm. However, we would like the club officers to meet on the off-weeks to discuss what we might do. This will help us with the organization, and hopefully keep up morale and attendance for our little club.

Next meeting date Wednesday, June 9, 4:45-5:45pm in room 302. As always, cookies will be provided!
